And So It Begins...

And so begins Study Month... That fateful time of year when plans to work really hard to get a 1H in all your modules actually turn into days upon days in bed, eating chocolate and watching old TV shows. I'm well on that road.

With some help, I was able to get an application to help me put videos on my iPod. That makes it so much easier to watch TV shows now - what I mean is, I can watch them when I'm bored on the bus home, or up to Dublin, or wherever I go. All of those hours wasted travelling actually won't go to waste now :D I've also added some music to my iPod, such as Marina & The Diamonds, Bridgit Mendler and Icona Pop. Yes, quite gay. I don't care, I love it! As for the TV shows, I've added One Foot In The Grave and Father Ted (old but good!) and I've decided to give Doctor Who a try.

I've spent the start of my Study Month relaxing, listening to music, playing League of Legends and watching TV shows. I watched Dead Set last night actually - it's about a zombie outbreak during a series of Big Brother. Glad I actually got that ticked off my list. However, I wouldn't watch it again. Not the best in my opinion. Anyway, the reason I'm taking it easy is because I've had such a hectic week!

On Monday morning, I traveled up to Ballinasloe with UCCSU to take part in USI Congress. I was one of 19 UCC delegates representing 19,000 students in UCC. It was a fantastic 3 days (I had to leave early so I missed the last day). I learned so much about student politics, I met so many people and I bonded amazingly with UCC students. I also went up to speak - my first time speaking at Congress - and I received so much support! It was fantastic! I was even nominated for Best Maiden Speaker too :D I spoke about the MSM Blood Ban and how USI should still fight to change the current policies which prevent men who have sex with men from donating blood.

USI Congress kept me busy until Thursday morning. For the rest of Thursday, I attended a Development Day held by Deloitte in Dublin. It was a brilliant opportunity to meet other students from around the country in a professional environment. It's going to be a great boost to the CV. I even got some interview advice from a lovely employee in the HR department :D

So that was my activist-y, productive week. I'll try to get back into the swing with college work tomorrow. I'll start off small. I have 10 summer exams in May (woo!) which need a lot of work so I can't afford to take any more time off. The rest of this month will be spent studying, preparing for interviews and updating my LinkedIn profile. I've recently realised how much your (well mine anyway) CV changes. I'm constantly updating mine! Which reminds me, I need to update my CV NOW!! I had a look at the CV I had about a month ago and even that one is outdated :O

I'd better go do something half constructive. So long!

Still Loving Pokémon

Hello devout readers! Yes, I know it's been two weeks since my last post. Apologies!

In this post I'm just gonna ramble about Pokémon. On Friday night, I rewatched Pokémon: The First Movie. I was expecting it to be awful cringe because the last time I saw it was a good number of years ago. But, I was quite impressed with some jokes that I did not catch when I was younger. I've always had a severe soft spot for Mew; one of my favourite Pokémon. As for Mewtwo, he's quite a misunderstood villain. Of course, Ash is cringe, but the movie itself ain't. Really did enjoy rewatching this :D

Pokémon: The First Movie

Moving on from the first movie and onto Pokémon X & Y! I can't wait to play these games, however, I do not yet own a 3DS... :( Depending how my summer goes, I'll get one. I actually held a 3DS XL today; it was SOOOO big! My brother has a 3DS which I've played numerous times, but the XL is way bigger than I expected! Still rather set on getting the XL though. . . but once the time comes I'll make a proper informed decision about it. As for the game - I want to get Y but so does my brother. We'll fight for it! Whoever gets what, we'll have the 2 games so it'll be grand! Must actually keep an eye on Serebii for the latest updates on X & Y. :)

Before I get Y (or X), I plan to form some awesome teams in Black 2. I already a couple, such as my playthrough party which I fully EV trained later in the game once I got access to EV reducing techniques. I also have a Dragon party. My next plan which is currently being executed is an Eeveeloution party :D I've always wanted one for novelty so I decided to try make a half-decent battle strategy. Below you'll see the party I plan to make. Once I have them egged and trained, I can work out the kinks. You'll see that the strategy I'm using is so overused for Eeveeloution parties but I don't care :D

Nature: Bold {+Def, -Att}
Ability: Snow Cloak

Ice Beam
Baton Pass

Nature: Jolly {+Sp, -Sp Att}
Ability: Leaf Guard

Leaf Blade
Swords Dance
Heal Bell
Baton Pass

Nature: Careful {+Sp Def, -Sp Att}
Ability: Flash Fire

Flame Charge
Work Up
Baton Pass

Nature: Calm {+Sp Def, -Att}
Ability: Water Absorb

Aqua Ring
Baton Pass

Nature: Timid {+Sp, -Att}
Ability: Volt Absorb

Charge Beam
Baton Pass

Nature: Timid {+Sp, -Att}
Ability: Magic Bounce [hidden]

Stored Power
Calm Mind
Morning Sun
Baton Pass

There's really only one problem I'm having with this party... That is Espeon's ability. I would really love to get Magic Bounce (and there is a way I can get it in-game) but if I do get it, my Espeon won't have as high EVs as the others will. Because I'm breeding the other 5. Be amazing if I found a female Eevee in the Dream World with it's hidden ability :D It'd be the shit! ^_^ But what do ye think of the party? I'm looking forward to having it but I can envisage myself cursing it hard when it loses against everyone... Ah sure!

Ok so there goes my Pokémon spiel :) Before I go, I just want to let you all know how I recently remembered I have two awesome DS games that I wish to finish! Might & Magic and The World Ends With You. Fantastic games! I'm so so bad at playing games, realising I love them and then NOT finishing them :/ WHY?! I'm such a ditz. If you've heard of these games, then here - *high five*.

Actually, I'm gonna play some M&M now... *grabs DS*

Tell Me Why My Kitchen Smells Of Vomit!

Ah the Backstreet Boys :) Thanks Lorraine, that cheered me up today ^_^ I wish I'd been there when you were singing about our kitchen and how it smells so much like vomit (it really does).

I hear that tickets for Ke$ha are going on sale next Friday! I'm so excited! I've seen her once before, at Oxegen in 2011, and I was so ecstatic when she came on stage.. She liked Brian's beard. And she looked straight at my camera for a sexy photo!

Ke$ha Pretending To Be A Zombie... I Assume

Ke$ha Cupping Balls... Or Boobs

So yeah, I can't wait for the tickets to go on sale. That's gonna be an awesome concert ^_^ I really did enjoy her album Warrior when it came out. Not that I don't like it now, it's still full of her essence. And glitter. And stuff.

And there's one of my plans for summer. I now need to find something else to do. I would like to get an internship somewhere but the time is running out :/ So it seems like it'll be a miracle if I can get one. If an internship doesn't work out, I suppose I'll just try looking for a job in Cork. If that doesn't work out I'll sell soap on the roadside. Just like my old classmate Aisling wanted to :) And I'll have a pony named Tayto :D

Ok. So let's forget about summer for the moment. And let's talk about something else :D Who here has heard of the Konami Code? For those of you who don't know it, it's a cheat code that Konami put in their games. Other games and some websites have adapted it too so it's a well known cheat code. It even appeared in Wreck It, Ralph!

So, the code is:
Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start

Well that's what it is on games. On a website, 'Start' is usually replaced by 'Enter'.

After watching Wreck It, Ralph (which is now one of my favourite movies) I decided to add some easter eggs to my blog... ^_^ So enter the Konami Code anywhere on my blog!

I have a few other codes which I will release to you as things progress. Hopefully I'll learn how to change the coding a bit more so I can do new things with codes :D

Do you know where I went last Tuesday? Yes, I went to see the X Factor On Tour ^_^ It's quite interesting to look back at my older blog post about the X Factor and compare it to who did well in the competition. The 7 acts who performed on the night were Rylan Clark, Ella Henderson, District 3, Union J, Jahmene Douglas, Christopher Moloney and James Arthur. I must say, Ella stole the show in my opinion. She sang her own song, Missed. And she then sang Believe while playing piano. Fantastic performances! She was always my favourite :)

I'll leave it there for tonight. I'll try to come back soon to keep you entertained. It's coming up to the one-year anniversary of my blog ^_^ Exciting times!! :D
